BALMORAL STADIUM FANZONE OPENING FOR LIVE SCREENING OF CONNAH’S QUAY NOMADS CUP CLASH
COVE Rangers look set to have around 50 fans roaring them on at the Riverside Stadium during our Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup clash with Welsh side Connah’s Quay Nomads.
An official supporters club bus and fleet of cars will be ferrying the Cove Blue and White Army to cover the 750 mile round trip.
It’s the furthest distance Cove Rangers have ever had to travel for a game.
But stay at home Cove fans will also have the chance to watch the match the club’s first ever live televised game as it happens - in the Fanzone at Balmoral Stadium.
The Fanzone will be open from 2pm on Saturday, giving the Cove Rangers supporters plenty of time to warm up ahead of the 5.15pm kick-off.
Cove Rangers chairman Keith Moorhouse said: “We wanted to make sure as many Cove fans as possible got the opportunity to see the game.
“We appreciate the commitment being shown by the fans who are making the long trek to Wales.
“It’s the longest we’ve ever travelled for a match and we are all hoping it’s going to be a day out to remember.
“It will be good to know we also have a lot of fans back home at Balmoral Stadium rooting for the team on what is a historic day for the club.”
Saturday’s match is being screened live on Welsh channel S4C , which can be accessed in Scotland on Sky 134, Freesat 120 and Virgin TV 166.
