LOOKING AFTER COVE PLAYERS IS NO LAUGHING MATTER FOR BALMORAL’S OWN VERSION OF THE CHUCKLE BROTHERS
DEDICATED: Cove stalwarts, from left, George and Neil Mathieson.
THEY are lovingly described as Cove Rangers' own version of the famous comedy duo The Chuckle Brothers.
But George and Neil Mathieson are always deadly serious when it comes to carrying out their duties in and around Balmoral Stadium.
The Aberdeen-based brothers are much valued members of the club's backroom staff, something Cove chairman Keith Moorhouse was only happy to acknowledge.
Keith said: "Clubs like ours simply couldn't survive without people as dedicated as George and Neil are working behind the scenes."
From cleaning boots to sweeping out the dressing rooms, no job is too much for the magnificent Mathiesons, who have now been with the club for close to two decades.
George, the older of the brothers, said: "It's a labour of love for both of us.
"Neil and I really enjoy the privilege of being allowed to work behind the scenes and even join in when the club has any success."
