LATEST ARRIVAL BROQUE ADMITS HE IS DELIGHTED TO GET THE CHANCE TO PLAY FOR COVE RANGERS

FORMER Annan Athletic midfielder Broque Watson says he jumped at the opportunity to join Cove Rangers.
The 20 year-old former Celtic youth player moved to Balmoral Stadium just hours before the January transfer window closed on Friday.
Broque admitted there was never any chance of him turning down the offer to play for Cove and manager Paul Hartley.
“As soon as I spoke to the gaffer I knew it was the right move for me,” he said.
“Cove are an ambitious club and I’m delighted to have been asked to be a part of their plans.
“They have done fantastically well so far this season, so it’s up to me to now see if I  can make a positive impact and help them continue that.”
Cove boss Paul had been tracking Broque for some time, he had even considered signing him when he was boss of Dundee.
“It’s a boost to know I’m playing for a manager who has thought a lot of me for a while,” said Broque.
“But I also know that won’t guarantee I get a game because I’ve joined a strong squad and there is a lot of competition for places.”
The transfer also gave Broque the chance to team up once again with Cove Rangers defender Daniel Higgins, who was also with Celtic as a youngster.
“I know Daniel well,” said Broque.
“He’s a year older but we went to school together and came up through the ranks at Celtic at the same time.
“It’s good having a familiar face about the place when you join a new club.
“But I have to say everyone in the dressing room has made me feel really welcome.
“I can’t wait to get a few training sessions in to get to know them even better.”
Broque made his debut when he came off the bench for the last 30 minutes of our 2-2 Ladbrokes League Two draw with Albion Rovers at the Riegart Stadium.
“The result obviously wasn’t the best but it was good to get out there and be involved,” he said.
“It ended up being a point gained on Edinburgh City because of their result, which we can look upon as a positive.
“But we know it was a game we should have won.”
