PRIZE GUY: Alan Redford with the Highland League Championhip Trophy and Highland League Cup, which he won with Cove Rangers last season.

COVE Rangers are delighted to confirm defender Alan Redford has been awarded a testimonial to mark a decade of service to the club.
Alan, 39, joined us from Huntly 10 years ago and has won four Highland League titles and the Highland League Cup three times.
His crowning glory was helping Cove make history as the first Highland side to earn promotion into the SPFL via the Pyramid Play-Offs.
The board of directors decided to reward Alan’s loyalty by granting him a testimonial.
Among the events organised to celebrate his career is a gala dinner at Aberdeen’s Hilton TreeTops on March 21, 2020.
A testimonial match is also being planned.
Director of Football John Sheran, who was Alan’s manager during our last five seasons as a Highland League club, said: “Football testimonials were designed for people such as Alan.
“I’m delighted we have agreed to recognise his professionalism and the important part he has played to help bring success to the club over the past few seasons.
“The fact Alan is part of the squad competing at SPFL level at an age when many players have long since retired speaks volumes about how well he has taken care of himself over years - and how much he wants to do well for Cove Rangers.
“As his manager, I was grateful to have such a talented and versatile player at my disposal.
“Alan is also a true gentleman and the ideal role model for the younger players at the club.
“I’m sure the Cove fans will show their appreciation of what Alan has done for our club by supporting his testimonial.”
