VETERAN COVE DEFENDER REDS RELISHING CHANCE TO SEE HOW THEY MEASURE UP TO TITLE FAVOURITES CITY
SWEATING IT OUT: Cove Rangers defender Alan Redford, second right, training at Balmoral Stadium with team-mates, from left, Daniel Park, Connor Scully and Harry Milne.
COVE Rangers stalwart Alan Redford is delighted they have been handed the toughest possible start to life in League Two with a home clash against Edinburgh City.
Cove take another huge step in their history by making their debut in the SPFL against City at Balmoral Stadium on Saturday, 3pm.
“They are highlighted as one of the favourites to win our league so it will be a great gauge as to where we are as a team,” said defender Alan, who is now moving into his 10th campaign as a Cove Rangers player.
“Like ourselves, they came up from the lower leagues but have clearly improved during their time as an SPFL club.
“They have got better every year and were very unfortunate to miss out on promotion last season, so we couldn’t have asked for a tougher baptism.”
