Mitch Megginson and Nicky Gray were also on target as Cove triumphed playing exciting, attacking football throughput.
Cove keeperStuart McKenzie did his bit with a fantastic save in the fourth minute, blocking a 12 yard shot from Steven Anderson with his chest.
The value of that save was underlined when Cove took the lead in the15th minute.
A sweeping move involving eight or nine passes from Cove ended with Harry Milne's cross from the left which was met perfectly by McMANUS, who steered his 12 yard header well beyond the reach of the Rothes keeper.
Megginson had the chance to make it two after darting into the Rothes area but the striker fired his 10 yard shot over the crossbar.
Jamie Masson chipped the ball over to Milne and his  shot sped wide as Cove kept up the pressure.
Megginson broke clear again but his shot from the edge of the area went off target.
Daniel Park was unfortunate not to increase Cove's lead with a powerful drive that rebounded off the face of the Rothes keeper's left post to safety.
Cove went close again when Rothes keeper McConnachie was beaten to the ball by Megginson way outside his area.
The striker's net bound lob was cleared at the edge of the six yard yard box by Jamie Duff.
It was more of the same at the start of the second half from Cove as they swept forward time and time again.
McConnachie made a decent block from Milne's close range shot before Masson was unlucky with a 20 yard lob that dropped behind the Rothes crossbar.
Masson tried again with a curling 25 yard free-kick that McConnachie bundled behind for a corner.
Cove's second, in the 58th minute came after some fantastic inter play between McManus and Megginson.
The latter dummied the ball near the halfway line to allow the ball to run to McManus then raced through to collect a perfect through pass from his strike partner.
Megginson raced into the Rothes area then unselfishly squared the ball for the unmarked McMANUS  to place a 15 yard shot into the corner of the net.
McManus had another shot brilliantly saved by McConnachie as Cove threatened to run riot.
Megginson showed his class by collecting a long clearance from McKenzie with one touch then turning instantly to hit a 14 yard shot that was saved by McConnachie.
Cove underlined their total superiority by going three up in the 82nd minute.
Jordon Brown fed a corner over from the right for fellow substitute  GRAY to score with a powerful 16 yard header.
Gray then turned provider with a  lay off for MEGGINSON to score with a sublime curling shot from outside the area with two minutes to go.
