WELCOME ABOARD: Latest Cove Rangers signing Fraser Fyvie at Balmoral Stadium today.

COVE Rangers are delighted to confirm midfielder Fraser Fyvie has become manager Paul Hartley’s latest signing.

The 26-year-old former Aberdeen, Wigan Athletic, Hibs and Dundee United player has penned a short-term contract until January and goes straight into the Cove squad for this afternoon’s Ladbrokes League Two clash with Cowdenbeath at Balmoral Stadium.
Cove Rangers manager Paul: “It’s a brilliant signing for and I would like to thank the chairman and the rest of the directors for getting it completed.
“Fraser is a quality player with vast experience and his arrival gives everyone at the club a massive boost.
“I know Fraser well from our time together at Aberdeen and he’s still well capable of playing in the Premier League, so I appreciate him agreeing to play in League Two with us.
“The next six months will give Fraser the opportunity to start enjoying his football again and will definitely aid us as we attempt to establish Cove Rangers in the SPFL.
Fraser and Martin Buchan are the only Aberdonians to have won the FA Cups in Scotland and England.
Fraser won the English version with Wigan in 2013 and lifted the Scottish Cup with Hibs in 2016. Buchan won the Scottish Cup with Aberdeen in 1970 and FA Cup with Manchester United in 1977.
Fraser became the youngest to ever play for the Dons when he made his debut aged just 16 in 2009. His goal against Hearts in January 2010 also made him the youngest player to net in Scotland’s top division.
He made 56 appearances for Aberdeen before joining Wigan in 2012 for an undisclosed fee.
Fraser was on the bench when they beat Manchester City in the 2013 FA Cup final at Wembley.
Loan spells with Yeovil and Shrewsbury followed before he returned to Scotland to sign for Hibs in 2015 and he helped the Edinburgh side beat Rangers 3-2 in the Scottish Cup final the following season.
Fraser, who has been capped eight times for Scotland at Under-21 level - also helped Hibs win the Scottish Championship in 2017 before signing a one year contract with Dundee United in August of that year.
Fraser became club captain at Tannadice and agreed a two year extension to his contract but he and United agreed to cut that short in May and he had been without a club until signing for Cove Rangers this morning.
Everyone at Cove Rangers wishes Fraser well during his time at Balmoral Stadium.
