COVE RANGERS TO LAUNCH LEAGUE ONE CAMPAIGN WITH HOME CLASH AGAINST EAST FIFE
EAST Fife will be the visitors to Balmoral Stadium for our historic first match in League One.
The SPFL fixture list, released this afternoon, confirmed The Fifers - who are managed by former Aberdeen captain Darren Young - kick-off the campaign at Cove on Saturday October 17.
IN CHARGE: East Fife manager Darren Young, who captained Aberdeen during his playing days.
That match is followed by a visit to Peterhead on October 24 then a bumper home clash against Partick Thistle the following week.
The festive period also features a visit to Forfar Athletic on Boxing Day and the return clash against Jim McInally’s Blue Toon on January 2.
We are scheduled to end our league campaign at home to Montrose on May 1.
Neil Doncaster, chief executive of the SPFL said: “Announcing these fixtures is a big step towards the resumption of football for all SPFL clubs and I’d like to thank our members for their assistance and patience in the development of this season’s fixture calendar.
“Of course, we are still reliant on the virus remaining suppressed and we continue to work closely with both Scottish Government and the Coronavirus Joint Response Group to ensure that the appropriate protocols are upheld.
“Although supporters of Premiership clubs can look forward to competitive action returning safely this weekend, we know that supporters of clubs outside of the top flight are just as eager to see their teams return to action as soon as possible.
“Hopefully today’s announcement represents some light at the end of the tunnel and gives those supporters something to start getting excited about.”
